Stallion Testing

Chardonnay is registered and fully approved/licensed with the Weser-Ems pony registry. He won his Stallion Testing in Germany and had the highest score of ANY pony stallion in Germany that year (8.55)!

Weser-Ems ponies are essentially Oldenburg ponies and their inspections are held with the German Oldenburg Verband inspections. Chardonnay's foals out of approved mares are eligible for registration and branding with Weser-Ems.

Chardonnay had an impressive show record in Germany under Kira Wulferding prior to his importation.

USA Show Results

After being imported to the US, Chardonnay and his rider, Jaye Cherry, began to establish their successful partnership. Chardonnay made a graceful debut on the US show scene at Third level after only six weeks of being ridden by Jaye.

Chardonnay made his Fourth level debut in 2007. It proved to be a great success with Chardonnay winning all of his classes (with qualifying scores). In addition, Chardonnay finished Fourth Level Champion, and Open High Score of the Show!

More importantly, Chardonnay showed his character by being the perfect gentleman at a new venue he had never been to before. He stood calmly beside the warm-up ring in a halter (to let him see the sights), the only problem was suggesting to the people who came up to pet him that perhaps they should not bring their lovely mares directly up to his nose!

2007 Show Results
Chardonnay continues to have great show ring success. After a break from showing while Jaye was training in Germany, he made a great return at Fourth Level, and scored over 68% and 69%, placing second in the first test and winning the next class! At the Cool August Nights Dressage Show, Jaye Cherry and Chardonnay won first place at fourth level becoming the Cornerstone Fourth Level CHAMPION!

At the 2007 CDS Annual Show in VERY wet weather, Chardonnay finished 5th in the Open Fourth Level Horse of the Year class. He competed against the 'big' horses, and in one class there was 4" of water on top of the arena!!

2008 Show Results
2008 proved to be a fantastic show season for Chardonnay and Jaye as they debuted at Prix St. George with great success in the open division. At the Dressage at E.P.C. Show, they showed in the Open Prix St. Georges on Saturday and Sunday. Not only did Chardonnay win BOTH classes, with scores of 70% and 70.75%, he also finished the show as Upper Level Champion! He was also the Cornerstone Open Prix St. Georges champion in 2008. Chardonnay has more than proven he has what it takes to be a top FEI pony.

Chardonnay and Jaye will continue to train and show from their home base of the LA Equestrian Center. Stay tuned for their future success.
