Chardonnay's sire Constantin is a 1983 Welsh B stallion from Holland
and is one of the
most accomplished and influential stallions in German pony breeding.
He is a dark chestnut stallion standing 134 cm. For
many years, Constantin has been ranked one of the top ten pony stallions in the FN
breeding value statistics. His sire, Whatton Copper Beech was an
influential sire as well. Whatton Copper Beech's classic Welsh pony bloodlines include the
greats Solway Master Bronze, Downland Chevailer and Coed Coch Berwynfa.
Both of Whatton Copper Beech's parents came from the same maternal stock,
and have the same maternal great-grandmother, the exceptional Springbourne
Ladybird.
Constantin's offspring include
multiple approved sons, registered broodmares, state premium mares and
competition ponies. Constantin offspring are competing in dressage and in show jumping
sport with great success. Constantin son Konrad became federal dressage champion at the age of four, federal
vice-champion at the age of six, and then in 1997 and 1999, he was both
individual and team European champion. This was followed by his becoming
European team vice-champion in 2000 and 2001 and European vice-champion as
well as European team champion in dressage in 2002. Cash and Go, another
successful Constantin offspring, was federal
champion six-year old dressage pony in 1996, European vice-champion and European team champion in the years 1999 and 2000.
In 2002 and 2003 Chardonnay was Weser-Ems state champion and Federal Vice-Champion in
dressage. In show jumping, the two silver medalists of the 2000 Federal
Championship, Captain Buff (five-year old show jumping ponies) and Cognac 62
(six-year old show jumping ponies) are Constantin offspring.
Chardonnay's dam-sire Livio is out of the thoroughbred mare
Regentin xx, whose sire Ballboy xx was a proven sire in warm blood breeding.
Chardonnay's dam Wienerin is also the dam of the sports pony Wiebke (by
Diamant II), who started successfully in dressage horse tests prior to her
breeding career, and of Chardonnay's full-brother Calimero, who won the
bronze medal at the federal championship of four-year old dressage ponies in
1998 and who managed to qualify once more for the finals in the dressage and
show jumping disciplines in 2000. Wienerin's grand-sire, the Trakehner
stallion Ordensglanz is the sire of the Trakehner champion stallion of
1994, Glanzlicht, as well as of Argument, who in turn is responsible for the
top dressage horse Antony FRH/I. Werth. Chardonnay's dam line leads into the
Trakehner mare family of the mare Wally. This family produced inter alia,
the stallions Waldgeist (by Kassio), Wie Ibikus (by Ibikus) and Waldzauber
(by Pindar xx).
